Participants learn relevant and functional skills related to safely navigating the community more independently.  Regular outings in the community are a major component of this program to allow participants to practice skills in real settings.

Skills taught can include:

  • Navigating and using the public transportation system (TTC)
  • Understanding safety in the community
  • Managing time and money
  • Planning outings
  • Strategies to use when encountering an emergency in the community
